According to the Regulations of ECI Rules and guidance Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Derabis College was organised. It aims to assist electoral literacy in all age groups of people of the country, especially the students of the colleges.

The Derabis college Electoral Literacy Club was also organised with the motives of earmark the new voters, (age-group of 18-21 years especially the graduation students). All the regular students of the institution are members of the club.

 Objectives:

• The objectives of the ELC, as stated in the ECI guidelines, and keeping the needs at the institutional and local levels in mind, are:
• Identification the students of the 18 years as new voters.
• Arrangements are made for registered their names in the electoral rolls.
• Teach them about the populations, in the college and the locality, about voter registration, electoral process and related matters through hands on experience.
• Teach them about the EVM and VVPAT functions
• Facilitate them about to use the of EVM as to maintain integrity of the electoral process.
• Teach them to understand the value of their vote and exercise their right to franchise in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner.
• To harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in communities.
• To make them realise and to follow the principle 'Every vote count' and 'No Voter to be Left Behind'.
