STUDENT UNION

The students’ Union will be called Students’ Union of Derabis College, Derabis, Kendrapara.

Members: - All Degree students

The student’s union act as the only platform of students’ view or idea inside the college.

Functions:

a) To arrange discussions regarding local, national and international issues.

b) To arrange discourses.

c) To invite prominent dignitaries to address the Union.

d) To organise various academic and non-academic programmes proposed by the Student’s Union and finalised by the principal.

According to the guidelines prescribed by the Government for Student Election, each member of the Union can take part in the election.

As per the students’ union constitution the rules and regulations of the Union, its organisation and its functions are finalised.

Members of the staff:

The meeting of the Union shall be open to all members of the staff who, if they so desire, can take part in the proceedings of the meeting only when directed by the principal and specified by the advisor.

There shall be an Executive Committee of the college union consisting of the following:

a) The President

b) The Vice-President

c) The Secretary

d) The Assistant Secretary

e) One Representative from each of the classes. For this purpose, Arts and Science classes are to be treated separately.

f) A Women Representative is to be elected by the women students of the College.

Presently Student Union Election banned in Odisha according to the instruction of the Department of Higher Education.
