Research cell

The Research Cell of Derabis College, Derabish is established to promote, monitor and address research activities. The objective of the Cell is to monitor and administer Research programs for faculty and students and encourage them to have a rational approach in their academic activities. The cell also focuses on research activities by providing the necessary infrastructural setup to faculty and students at large including reputed journals and encyclopaedias in the library, well-equipped computer labs etc.

OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH CELL

• To create and promote a culture of research among the faculty and staff.
• To organize various workshops/seminars/ trainings related to the promotion of research.
• To keep track and record publications made by the faculty.
• To publish an ISSN/referred research journal and motivate the faculty members and students to write more papers.
• To assist institutions in improving the teaching-learning environment with the help of Action Research

RESEARCH POLICY ACCORDING TO UGC GUIDELINE:

Coordination and maintenance of standards in teaching and research is the statutory responsibility of the college.

• To maintain and adhere to the highest standards of honesty, research ethics and integrity
• To familiarize all researchers with and abide by the research policies and guidelines
• To evaluate the research/academic credentials
• To ensure that the policy, governance and administrative support creates an excellent research environment
• To use scientific rigor and integrity in obtaining, recording, analyzing data, reporting and

publishing the results.

 

Research Policy

The college shall have a well-defined research quality which shall act as a guideline for the

scholar, teachers and all other concerned personnel.

• To encourage original quality basic and applied research in the fields science and
• literature and all related and other relevant fields.
• To identify the emerging areas of research and encourage the faculty members to
• undertake research in these areas.
• To establish linkage with industries and business organizations to identify potential
• areas of research, surveys and other basic research enquiry.
• To acquire projects, market surveys and other research activities to acquire
• assistance from other business houses, industries, NGOs, boards and forums.
• To encourage faculty members to get research projects from National Funding

Agencies.

Policy on Promotion of Academic Research

A policy on academic research faculty to promote faculty involvement in research and developmental activities shall be prepared and implemented.

• This policy shall deal with the higher education of faculty members and faculty publication.
• A well-defined policy shall be prepared and implemented to encourage the enrolment of faculty in M.Phil and Ph.D programmes .
• To declare suitable incentives and course work leaves for Ph.D holders as per the rule and regulations of the government,  and to those publish research articles in journals and reputed journals.
