COMMITTEE ON SCs AND STs
The scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell of Derabis College, Derabish, Kendrapara is a statutory body to resolve the issues related to the SCs and STs employees and students of the college. The primary focus is to mainstreaming the SCs and STs community students and employees in the community. The main aim of college is to implement various schemes launched by both Government of India and Odisha.
OBJECTIVE
To provide equal opportunity and Social Justice to SC and ST students and employees in educational, economic and social sectors.
FUNCTIONS
1. To collect information and maintain record register regarding the number of both teaching and non-teaching staff and students belonging to SC/ST categories in the college.
2. To supervise the allotment and distribution of scholarships for various reserved candidates.
3. To deal with representations received from the SC/ST candidates regarding their admissions and recruitment, promotion and other similar matters in the colleges.
4. To create awareness of the schemes for the welfare of SC /ST community.
5. To collect information regarding course-wise admissions to candidates belonging to the SC/ST in the College on an annual basis.
7. To promote higher education among these two communities suffering economic, social and educational deprivations.
